On August 27, 1979, Louis Mountbatten was on his boat “Shadow V” along with five family members and an employee. The Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) detonated a bomb on the boat, killing Mountbatten and three others, injuring the rest. Eighteen UK soldiers were killed in another attack the same day.
The IRA considered Mountbatten a valid military target as part of the IRA’s war for independence and reunification. Within days of the bombing, in retaliation, the UK’s SAS murdered an IRA suspect unrelated to the bombing.
On August 20, 2019, seven days before the 40th anniversary of his death, files became public showing that the FBI knew Mountbatten was an alleged pedophile. Mountbatten was friends with Jimmy Savile in 1966, when he made Savile an honorary “admiral” in the British navy. Rumours abounded since then that Mountbatten was involved in Savile’s crimes against children, but nothing more concrete emerged until now.
Mountbatten was second cousin to Elizabeth and introduced her to his nephew, Philip. Hence, Elizabeth and Philip are third cousins. Mountbatten is also great uncle to prince Andrew, friend of Jeffrey Epstein and alleged participant in the latter’s criminal activities.

[R]ecently uncovered FBI files and new interviews paint the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma as a sexually voracious man whose bisexuality became a theme of US intelligence files. The documents came to light during research for a biography of Lord Mountbatten and his wife Edwina by Andrew Lownie, a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and president of the Biographers’ Club.

Elizabeth de la Poer Beresford, Baroness Decies, when interviewed about another matter, had mentioned being an intimate of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary and their ladies-in-waiting.
The first FBI files date back to February 1944, soon after Mountbatten had become supreme allied commander of southeast Asia.
It reads: “She states that in these circles Lord Louis Mountbatten and his wife are considered persons of extremely low morals.
Mr Lownie believes US spies began compiling intelligence on Mountbatten’s private life after he was made supreme allied commander of Southeast Asia during the Second World War.
It’s not known if the material was passed to the British government.
The so-called “Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)” and “Inquiry into Historical Abuse” have been (intentionally?) toothless at exposing or accusing anyone other than the dead (e.g. Ted Heath, Savile) or the least powerful (e.g. Rolf Harris, Ray Teret). Accusations of coverup and protection of the powerful have been made by many survivors.
