Princess Diana: Ex-wife of soldier who claimed SAS murdered royal now in hiding [Article From 13/10/13]

The mum-of-two is understood to have cut all links with friends

The ex-wife of a soldier who claimed the SAS murdered Princess Diana fears for her life and has gone into hiding, the Sunday People reports.

The mum-of-two alleges her former husband, known as Soldier N, told her an SAS hit squad killed Diana.

The woman, 36, who can be identified only as Mrs N, is understood to have cut all links with friends. Only her close family, lawyer and the police probing the claims are aware of her location.

Soldier N, who has denied the hit squad claim, has been interviewed at his home by Det Chief Insp Philip Easton of Scotland Yard, who worked on Operation Paget, the multimillion pound inquiry into Diana and Dodi Fayed’s deaths.

The Yard’s “scoping” investigation is still continuing, with sources saying it is likely to run for several more weeks.

Mrs N has been warned by SAS officers that she has potentially endangered her life her by going public with the allegations.

One officer is understood to have reminded her of the death of Drummer Rigby in what is being seen as a “heavyhanded” bid to silence her.

A source close to the investigation said Mrs N was effectively a “protected witness”. He said: “She is in fear of her life. She believed every word her husband told her when he said the SAS killed Diana. He’s a highly trained killer and was in a regiment full of trained killers. No wonder she’s scared.” The Sunday People has also been passed a copy of an extraordinary video showing the SAS, including Soldier N, firing high-powered sniper rifles from a Chinook helicopter on an operation in Helmand, Afghanistan, in 2008.

The video is one of several on a laptop that once belonged to Soldier N. It also contained over 90 photos and secret documents revealing SAS tactics.

Detectives are examining one picture that shows SAS members lying on a bridge in Wales peering at cars down the telescopic sights of a sniper’s rifle.

They are practising a procedure known as high-speed vehicle interdiction, a tactic designed to stop speeding motors driven by terrorists.

Soldier N allegedly first told his then wife at their Hereford home in 2008 – after Prince William had visited the regiment’s HQ – that the SAS had murdered the Princess . Mrs N told her husband how sorry she felt for Harry after losing his mother in so tragically. He allegedly said: “The SAS killed her”.
